PICCH brings together researchers, archivists, and technology providers to explore new ways of improving access to contested colonial heritage through digital and language technologies. The project investigates how speech and language processing can support the discovery, interpretation, and analysis of audiovisual archives, helping users better understand historical narratives, language shifts, and shared cultural heritage across different European collections.

Total eligible cost: €1.267.185. Financial support from the European Union: €107.187,50 to be funded by JPICH P&P; €107.187,50 to be funded from own/additional funds. VoiceInteraction: 214,375.00€. Funding is requested for 50% of eligible costs, as prescribed by Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia regulation. The remaining 50% is given in kind. Support logos: FCT, União Europeia.
